Jan. 28CANCELLED - to be rescheduled. Joy Bostic, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), will deliver the first of the Women's Empowerment Centennial Lecture Series, presented with Siegal Lifelong Learning, CWRU.

Feb. 14   ✩ 100th anniversary of the founding of League of Women Voters of the United States

May 14 - CANCELLED FOR NOW - CMSD Fair on Voting Rights for 10th grade history students.

May 20  - POSTPONED to Aug 18 -  Heather McKee Hurwitz

May 22 - POSTPONED, Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) museums are opening July 25. WRHS exhibit: “Women and Politics” covers the suffrage movement up to the ratification of the 19th amendment and the founding of the League of Women Voters. Grand opening reception on May 22 was cancelled. 

May 29   ✩ 100th anniversary of the founding of the League of Women Voters of Cleveland – now League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland (LWVGC)

Jul 29 - Carol Lasser, Emerita Professor of History at Oberlin College. Women's Empowerment Centennial Lecture: "Bending to the Color Line: the Fight for Women’s Suffrage in Ohio." Virtual.

Aug 18 - Heather McKee Hurwitz, Lecturer of Sociology, Case Western Reserve University. Women's Empowerment Centennial Lecture: "From The 19th Amendment To The Occupy Movement and Black Lives Matter: 100 Years Of Women’s Social Movement Activism." Virtual.

Aug. 18   ✩ 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment by the 36th state, Tennessee

Aug. 24 - (POSTPONED INDEFINITELY) - Belle Sherwin Luncheon at the Cleveland History Center (WRHS).

Aug. 26   ✩ 100th anniversary of certification of the 19th Amendment, officially entering it into the United States Constitution

Oct. 22 - Martha Jones, Johns Hopkins University. Ubbelohde Lecture (CWRU History Associates). "Vanguard: African American Women and the Road from Suffrage to Voting Rights." Virtual. 6 p.m.

Dec.   - LWVGC’s induction into WRHS’s 100 year club of the Western Reserve (date TBA).
